All hires are restricted to 21 years and over, drivers under 21 may register as additional drivers under the rental agreement (hirers discretion is advised).
As hirer of vehicle, motorbike, scooter and / or bicycle described herein (the “vehicle” refers to all makes, models and variants of vehicles hired by the owner), the hirer HEREBY agrees to be bound by and accepts the terms and conditions of this agreement including all the attached clauses as set out herein, and officially acknowledges and solemnly declares that they are 21 years of age and over, and has fully understand this agreement. By the signature on the rental agreement the hirer acknowledges that he or she is absolutely liable in respect of up to the first NZ$2,500 (refer to clauses pertaining to insurance) irrespective of fault. The hirer shall be responsible for all costs if damage is caused whilst driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and from careless and /or reckless driving.
ZERO TOLERANCE policy applies under the “Standard Insurance Policy” and related clauses under this agreement. Vehicles, motorbikes, scooters and/or bicycles must not be mechanically altered or interfered with in any way whatsoever without the owner’s prior approval. The hirer shall be responsible for all puncture repair costs and/or traffic offences incurred during the duration of hire. Only drivers’ named in this agreement are permitted to operate this vehicle, motorbike scooter and/or bicycle. Pursuant to NIUE Transport Ordinance 1965, section 42, all accidents must be reported to the NIUE Police immediately within 24 hours of the accident. In the event that an accident and/or damage to the vehicle is caused whilst the hirer and/or driver is under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, and from reckless and dangerous driving, the hirer shall be responsible for all injuries and all costs incurred, including reparation and replacement cost to any third parties.
All hirers are required to submit a security bond agreement at the commencement of the hire.
Credit card or debit VISA / Mastercard details are required at the commencement of car hire as security bond for hire extensions, incidentals, fuel etc. The best insurance of all is to DRIVE SAFELY and ensure that you are fully aware of the road and traffic rules applicable in NIUE. In the event of an accident, hirers and / or drivers are required to report to the local Police within 24 hours of the accident. Hirers are liable for any damage to the hired vehicle whilst on hire and/or in their possession.
All vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel full at commencement of hire and if the vehicle is not returned with a full tank of fuel, the vehicle will be refuelled at hirer’s expense plus $15.00 service fee. Fuel is not included in our rental rates before the commencement of hire.
Hirer’s are responsible for parking, speeding fines, overhead, under-body, cracked windscreen and tyre repairs. All hired vehicles are prohibited on bush tracks, off the road dirt tracks and mountain bike tracks.
